Henry Owens is a 2011 LHP with a 6-6 195 lb. frame from Huntington Beach, CA who attends Edison HS. Very tall slender build, looks taller than list, obvious physical projection, loose overall actions. Very busy extended windup, 3/4's cross body extended release point, loose and easy out front. 88-91 mph fastball, with occ cutting action, hitters don't see FB's well, can get away with 88 mph up in zone. Flashes fair CB spin but ideal SL release point in the future, throws mid 70's change with fade, developing feel for off speed. Very competitive nature. Named an Aflac All-American.
