Joseph Cobb is a slender 2005 LHP/1B from Raleigh, North Carolina. He throws from a sidearm release point, fairly unusual for a southpaw, and gets good running movement down and away from right handed hitters on a fastball that topped out at 80 mph. Cobb also throws a 62-64 mph curveball and 68-71 mph very good change up. He has a good idea how to move balls up and down and in and out of the strike zone while changing speeds. He threw four quick and efficient innings in Fort Myers, striking out three while allowing only one hit. Joseph has a chance to be very successful in college ball.
