Kyle Blackburn is a 2006 1B/DH from Walton High School in Marietta, GA, with a 6'2'', 230 lb. frame. Blackburn has a very strong body with a big frame. Offensively the left handed hitter has good bat speed from a no stride approach. He is a very balanced hitter with great leverage in his swing at contact. Blackburn has strength in his swing and shows power to all fields. He adjusts well with his hands and uses the entire field. His ability to go with the pitch and his good knowledge of the strike zone will help him hit for a higher average as well as hit for power. When he gets a pitch he likes, Blackburn is aggressive with his swing and will be a middle of the order hitter at the next level. Defensively he has smooth actions around the first base bag with good hands. Blackburn is also a good student.
