2004 Indoor Pitchers/Catchers Showcase
Kyle Britton: Britton is a junior left handed pitcher from Iowa with good all around baseball skills and athletic ability. He throws from a high ¾’s release point with good balance and extension in front. Britton wraps a bit out of his glove but gets through it early in his arm arch. His fastball was 79-81 mph with good running action and Britton pounded the lower half of the strike zone with this pitch. His 69 mph curveball had good downer breaking action to it. Britton looks like the type of southpaw who is going to throw lots of strikes with pitches that are moving and hard to lift. How much velocity he adds to his fastball will be important. Britton made good consistent contact during his turns at the plate and carried himself with athletic confidence. Kyle is a very good student who could easily develop into a top college lefty.
