2003 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Hoge is an "05" LHP/OF from Kansas. At 5'10/160 he has a good athletic body. He runs fairly well and has a MLB ave arm from the outfield. In fact, he looked very good over all in the field. He also showed excellent hitting ability. Nice swing, good bat speed in an opposite field approach. The ball jumped off his wood bat in a hurry, mostly towards left field. On the mound he threw 82 out of a clean delivery. He got some life in his fastball. His breaking ball was in the mid to upper 60 mph range. This kid can play at the next level.
