Luke Vanderham -- Vanderham is a lean lanky 6-2 junior southpaw from California. He has an athletic build that’s well suited for adding strength. Vanderham has an easy, fluid delivery from a mid ¾’s release point and sometimes even a low ¾’s arm angle. His arm action is compact and efficient but he’ll occasionally throw across his body and cut himself off a bit. Vanderham pitched to spots low in the zone with a running 79-82 mph fastball and a big breaking 62-65 mph curveball. The curveball is much sharper and more effective when Vanderham stays on top of this pitch and doesn’t drop down. This is a young man who has plenty of projection to him and does things real well already. Keep a close eye on him.
