Marchelo Gattamorta is a 2006 switch hitting middle infielder from Miami, Florida. He has good strength for his size and age, especially in his hips and thighs. While Gattamorta is a switch hitter, he shows much better bat speed from the right side. He hits with high hands and a high elbow, and has a full rock in trigger and an aggressive swing. The ball jumps pretty well when he makes contact. From the left side Gattamorta has much more of a feel/contact type of swing. Defensively, Gattamorta projects at second base. He has a short, quick arm stroke and release with second base arm strength.
