Matt Dalessandro: This was the second time that we’ve seen Dalessandro pitch in the last two months and he was better this time out. He’s a 5-11 southpaw with a mature body and mature approach to pitching. Dalessandro works his 80-81 mph fastball down in the zone and likes to come inside on right handed hitters’ hands. He’ll both cut and run his fastball. Dalessandro’s curveball is in the upper 60’s and has some sharpness to it as well. He’ll mix in a change up occasionally but this doesn’t appear to be a major pitch for him yet. Overall, Dalessandro is a polished left hander with good command of his pitches and an idea how to use them.
