Matt Hohs is a 2005 2B/OF from Morton Grove, Illinois, with a 5'7", 155 pound frame. He hits from a narrow, slightly closed stance, with high hands and no load. He is short to the ball with a sharp, downward swing. He showed decent line drive potential, but he cuts off his swing on the finish which costs him power. He has good bat control and is able to go with the pitch. Defensively he showed good footwork and range, and was a little stiff with his transfer, but he made solid, accurate throws across the infield at 68 mph. He is a smart player with good instincts. Matt is a tough competitor with a lot of desire that will be a top college prospect.
