2005 World Showcase
Matt Holt is a 2005 middle infielder from Cary, North Carolina, with a very projectable 6'2", 160 lb. frame. Defensively, Holt showed some very good tools. He has nice soft hands and good footwork. He glides through his release with good arm strength and accuracy. Offensively he has a good approach with good hand strength, and balance throughout his swing. Holt attacks the ball and goes with the pitch driving the ball to all parts of the park. Holt also showed his patience during the showcase games, and showed his knowledge of the strike zone. He has good quickness defensively and on the bases. Holt has a projectable body, and has the athleticism and approach to continue to develop, and play professional baseball. Matt is a very good student who has signed with UNC Wilmington.
