2004 South Top Prospect Showcase
Anthony Sarao is a 6'2", 190 lb. left handed hitting 2005 outfielder from Houston, TX, with a nice projectable baseball body. His best present tool is his speed. Sarao ran a strong 60, (6.87) and we had him as low as 4.21 to first base from the left side on ground balls. Sarao hits left handed from a very open stance and never closes off his hips, and ends up hitting around the ball at times. He still generates very good bat speed and takes a healthy, full cut at the ball. Sarao’s hitting skills are raw, but he has the physical tools to become a pro level hitter. Defensively, Sarao’s speed helps him cover plenty of ground in the outfield. His arm plays and should get even stronger. Good body, excellent speed, big hitting potential. Anthony is an excellent student.
