Derek Martin is a 2012 RHP/3B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Tampa Catholic HS. Athletic build, some room to fill out. High upside on the mound, 3/4 arm slot, long loose arm action, good extension out front, arm works well, clean delivery, smooth and balanced, low effort, really knows how to pitch, mixes pitches well and hits spots, big 12-6 curveball, velo projects. Aggressive hitting approach, hits though the ball, goes to all fields, ball comes off the bat well, will improve with some adjustments in approach. Good 3B tools, strong arm, clean actions. Very strong student. Named to Top Prospect Team.
