Matthew Nordsten is 2005, 6'4" left hander from Altadena, CA. He throws his fastball from a very low ¾’s to almost side arm release point and really gets a lot of running action on the pitch. Nordsten’s fastball topped out in the mid 70s, but there's a lot more in him. He threw his curveball from a much higher release point trying to get over the pitch, but of course tips the pitch by changing his release point. Nordsten’s curveball was 65-67 mph, leading us to believe that he would throw much harder on his fastball from a higher release point. At 6'4 and being a lefty with outstanding movement on his pitches he projects nicely. His best years are ahead of him. Matthew is an outstanding student.
