Jayson Balades is a 2012 LHP/OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Port Hueneme, CA who attends Oxnard. Athletic build with room to fill. Very projectable. Looseness in body. On mound, arm works, medium balanced kick. Throws from 3/4 slot, short in back, clean and easy mechanics. Not much effort, ball comes out well. Sat low 80s during weekend, but we have saw him up to 87. Fastball has arm side run and is very good when down in zone. Changeup has hard sink and run. Slurvy slider is a pitch with a lot of potential, flashed solid break but didn't throw it for strikes. Loose arm with whippy arm strength from outfield. Ball came out easy. At plate, deep load, solid rhythm, easy swing with simple swing mechanics. Very good in the outfield. Good student. Very interesting follow. Named to Top Prospect Team.
