Joseph Acosta is a 2014 3B/MIF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Belen Jesuit Prep. Acosta has a medium sized frame with some strength. Defensively, he has good footwork to the baseball and is aggressive to the ball. Acosta has good actions and instincts with good arm strength. He showed good body control on slow rollers and showed the ability to throw on the run. At the plate, Acosta has an upright stance with a high hand set. He uses a toe tap trigger to start his swing and has a short path to the baseball. He gets good extension at contact and has some lift in his swing. Acosta has some bat speed and some hitting tools. Excellent student.
