Michael Rhodes is a 2007 1B/OF from Huntington Beach HS, residing in Huntington Beach, CA, with a 5'11" 190 lb. frame. Has an average, medium build with some strength, a somewhat mature build. Starts with a low hand slot and arm bar load that results in a sweeping swing path. That path creates some lift in his swing. Maintained decent balance in his swing and there is some power in there, though the ability to hit for a high average may be compromised by the angle of his swing. Defensively he showed some feel around the bag at 1B. The ball exited his hand well. Overall he was an efficient and patient defender who keeps it simple. His hands were decent. Consider Rhodes a follow prospect at the medium size college level. The potential with the bat is present.
