2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Mickey Campeanu is a 6'1", 200 lb. right handed pitcher from Canada and a 2005 prospect. He has good strength through his hips and thighs. Campeanu has a high leg kick and a balanced delivery with a mid ¾ release point. He shows some raw arm strength, pitching at 81-84 mph on his fastball with occasional running action. Campeanu threw mostly fastballs during the two times we saw him pitch, and didn’t look like he had confidence in his breaking pitches. His curveball was 69-71 mph and was up in the zone. He also threw a couple of 74 mph change ups. Campeanu is a very good student who qualifies at most colleges.
