2004 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
C Nate Yahn: Yahn is a 5-9 junior catcher from Wisconsin with good strength for his size and age. He hits out of a no load, no stride approach at the plate and hits almost exclusively to the opposite field. Yahn showed us some good pop during games with a ringing double up the right centerfield alley that had good carry on it and he’d benefit from taking the same kind of aggressive, hard swing on more pitches. Yahn’s defense looks pretty solid. He had good actions behind the plate and made up for his developing arm strength with a quick release that got his pop times down right near 2.00 during workouts.
