Austin Monroe is an athletic 2005 right handed pitcher/outfielder from West Chicago, Illinois, with a 6'0", 195 lb. frame. Monroe throws from a 3/4 arm slot with very good arm speed. He hides the ball well, and throws quality strikes with both of his pitches. His fastball topped out a 83 mph with good tail and sink. Monroe's curveball is small with some late break. He is very athletic on the mound, and projects to make gains in velocity. Offensively he produces serious power potential from a very quick bat and his strong body. He is short to the ball and needs to make some slight adjustments, but has two way potential at the next level. He needs to be followed and Austin is a very good student.
