2004 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Pete Simon: Simon caught for Santaluces High School on the southeast Florida coast, a school that has hardly had a single pitcher the past few years that wasn’t a Division I signee or professional draft choice. His experience on defense shows with his polish, energy and confidence and he has plenty of arm strength and quickness to catch at the college level. Simon uses his strong, thick 6-1, 220 lb. frame well with a bat in his hands and generates good bat speed with some power potential. We really don’t know why Simon is an unsigned player, as he plays a premium position with skill and solid tools and there are a ton of college programs at all levels looking for and signing lesser players to play Simon’s position.
