Peter Ramirez is a 2006 SS/OF from La Quinta HS in Bermuda Dunes, CA, with a 5'11", 175 lb. frame. Defensively Ramirez has good actions at shortstop and in the outfield. At shortstop he has soft hands and good footwork with solid arm strength, and in the outfield he has very good range. Ramirez has an accurate arm from both spots. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a wide base and simple approach. Ramirez has good bat speed and centers the ball well with a line drive swing plane. He hit several balls hard in batting practice as well as the games, including a solid line drive double in a showcase game. Ramirez shows he can make adjustments with his hands and uses the whole field with controlled aggressiveness. Ramirez is a solid all-around player, and is also a very good student.
