Vernon is an "04" LHP/1B with a bright future on the mound. At 6'1/190 he looks strong. In Wareham he was 83 and has much more in him. His breaking ball around 70 mph is very good with 2-plane break. His arm works smoothly and he has very good mechanics. He throws out of a higher 3/4 slot and gets a pretty good downward plane. He has a good feel for off speed pitches. He could end up being a top college lefty. Peter is even better in the class room. He's another one of the STAR students who attended Wareham this year. A 3.65 GPA and an unbelievable 1560 SAT. If he doesn't make it on the mound, he should go to the front office.
