Johnathon Tripp is a 2012 RHP/1B with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein HS. Medium frame, slender build. Full hands over head delivery, high 3/4's release point, arm works well. FB topped at 84 mph, mostly 80-82, throws big breaking slow CB for strikes, nice change up with sink/run, confident in change up, mixes up pitches well, throws Ks. Good athletic actions at 1B. Sound swing, uses lower 1/2 well, handles the barrel, can shorten up to the ball. Projectable athlete that keeps improving. Good student.
