Reed Lishen is a 2006 third baseman/catcher from Royal Palm Beach HS in Royal Palm Beach, FL, with a 5'11", 170 lb. frame. Lishen played shortstop a good deal in Ft. Myers even though he listed himself as a primary 3B, but he has the actions to handle the position. He has quick feet with soft hands and made all of the plays. Lishen showed good range, especially to his glove side, and has good body control on slow rollers. He also has solid arm strength, and his position flexibility will help him at the next level. Offensively he is a left handed hitter who hits from a wide base with a high hand set. His bat is quick and he is short to the ball with a nice line drive swing plane. There is strength in his swing and he drove the ball in the gaps well. Lishen has projectable tools and has upside. He needs to be followed.
