Richard Crockett is a 2016 2B/SS/RHP with a 6-1 182 lb. frame from Sherman, TX who attends Sherman HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders, long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet and fields out front, short and quick arm action, quick release out of glove and generates extension out front while getting on top of accurate throws across. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a longer arm action through the back. High leg lift up past belt, slight hip turn at top of delivery. Generates some downhill plane on fastball and located down in the zone, topped at 77 mph. Curveball flashes 12-6 shape at 64 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high back elbow and hand set, wide base. Upper body swing, short swing path to the ball with line drive plane. Keeps hands in through swing, high finish to swing, creates line drive contact off the barrel. Good student.
