Rick Costello is a 2007 catcher and utility player that attends Jensen Beach High School and resides in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He has a 5'8", 155 pound frame that is lean and athletic with room to fill out. Rick has an easy approach to hitting. He can hit the ball to all fields and keeps his hands inside the ball very well. He stays short to the ball and makes line drive contact to all fields. Costello has good fundamentals behind the plate. He has compact mechanics and a very quick release. He moves very well behind the dish as well. He showed good arm strength by throwing 72 down to 2B with a pop time of 1.95. He also ran very well for a catcher by running a 7.21 60. Rick is a solid catcher who is also a good student.
