Matthew Vorbeck is a 2012 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Corbin, KY who attends Corbin HS. Strong very athletic build. Multi-position prospect, excelled all over the field. 7.03 runner, quick athletic actions in the outfield, sound footwork, strong accurate throws. Shows third base tools defensively, good athletic balance, long easy arm action with carry. Right handed hitter, spread stance, extended loose swing with strength and bat speed, squares up the ball hard and shows power, will improve when he learns to hit taller with more leverage. Clean easy arm action on the mound from a balanced delivery, upper 80's fastball with hard run and sink at times. Curveball flashes plus potential, especially from the wind up. Sum of the parts greater than any one tool. Reminds of former Middle Tennessee State star Bryce Brentz (now with Red Sox). Good student. Signed with Eastern Kentucky.
