Michael Ionta is a 2014 C/ with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Westfield, NJ who attends Westfield. Medium build, shows some present strength. Ran a 7.56 60 yard dash. Shows sound actions behind the plate. Has a quick transfer and his feet move well. Arm strength is still developing but still gets the ball down there quickly. Throws are consistently on the bag. Bats left-handed, works from a slightly open stance, very spread out. Makes hard, pull side contact, uses a toe tap trigger and holds his hands high. Clean, fluid swing and consistent with his mechanics. Very good student.
