Brian Ortiz is a 2012 OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Curabo, PR who attends PR Baseball Academy. Smaller athletic build. Very good runner, 6.68 in the 60, 4.37 turn from the right side. Good outfield range, can cover the alleys, arm strength and throwing actions still developing. Switch hitter, better bat speed and hitting mechanics right handed, aggressive to the ball with some bat speed, line drive plane, solid mid field line drive contact, stays inside the ball, flashes some lift. More contact oriented left handed, sprays the ball. Outstanding student.
