Andrew Dunlap is a 2013 RHP/ with a 5-11 215 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Westbury Christian. Dunlap has a thick body with a strong build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a power arm action. His arm works well with very good arm speed. Dunlap works exclusively from the stretch and maintains balance through his delivery. He has shown improvement in his delivery since the Indoor Showcase and repeated his delivery well at the Pre-Draft. He loads his front hip well at balance point and is slightly across his body. Dunlap throws an 11/5 curveball with tight spin and sharp bite to it. He also threw an excellent change up at 84 MPH with sink and run to it. Dunlap pounded the strike zone and was dominant in his 2 innings of work. He also swung the bat well in BP and showed big time pop with the bat. Signed to Rice, excellent student.

Andrew Dunlap is a 2013 RHP/C with a 5-11 215 lb. frame from Houston, TX. Extra strong broad shouldered build, fairly mature physically. Slow paced delivery, simple mechanics, full fast arm action, effort on release causes inconsistency, throws mostly from the stretch and has better stuff and command from the stretch, high 3/4's arm slot. Consistent plus fastball velocity, lots of 93 and 94's, topped at 96 mph, fastball heavy down in the zone, will lose command at times and miss high arm side. Hard curveball spin with sharp bite, lacks command of curveball at present but is a promising pitch, rare change up. Very limited pitching experience, formerly a highly ranked catching prospect with big right handed power. Not playing high school baseball this spring after exhausting his eligibility. Arm strength is extremely impressive, can't help thinking of 5-11/205 Craig Kimbrel, who was a primary third baseman in high school. Very good student.

Andrew Dunlap is a 2013 C/RHP with a 5-11 205 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Westbury Christian HS. Extra strong physical build, physically mature. Right handed hitter, power approach, hits them high and deep, power to all fields, will swing and miss, ball really jumps hard and carries, pretty simple swing mechanics, patient hitter who will wait for his pitch then attack, performs. Excellent raw arm strength, 1.87 best pop, very willing blocker, still working on exchange and release consistency defensively. Also pitched, fastball to 91 mph from slow paced delivery, long arm, flashes hard break on 11/5 curveball, limited pitching experience but obvious raw stuff. Plays very hard and loves to play. Good student.

Right handed hitter, aggressive all out swing, very good raw bat speed, looks to pull and lift, takes front side off ball at times, big home run power, ball jumps hard and carries, will swing/miss but also will crush ball, likes it up in the zone. Plus arm strength behind the plate, good quickness and overall actions, 1.83 best pop time, will need to soften hands receiving. Also pitched, legit two-way prospect, effort delivery with long fast arm action, arm works very well. Fastball to 92 mph,mostly straight, flashes hard spin on mid 70's curveball, inconsistent release, occasional split finger change, reliever profile with power fastball. Plays the game hard and has top level tools.
