Kurt Kempema is a 2011 LHP with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Schaumburg, IL who attends Schaumburg HS. Tall slender build, nice pitcher's frame. Slow paced delivery, gets closed well, good direction to the plate, long extended arm action, 3/4's release point, some effort at release, drop and drive pitching style negates height. Fastball topped at 82 mph, good southpaw running action at times, nice change up with similar running action, did not throw a breaking ball. Has the ability to keep improving with strength/adjustments. Will need to develop a breaking ball. Good student.
