Scott Hurst is a 2014 OF/MIF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Glendora, CA who attends Bishop Amat. Compact frame, wiry strength, smaller build but very live bodied athlete. His stature will cause him to be overlooked by some, but he packs explosive ability into a small package. Plus plus arm, put four out of the five throws from the outfield on the money with perfect strikes to both 3B and home plate in the mid 90s (96 was top velocity). Solid power at the plate, homered in BP and has pop to all fields. Even better hit tool, advanced approach at the plate, goes with pitch well. Most impressive moment of showcase came when he led off the game with a long AB where he showed very good strike zone judgement, he drove a ball that registered at 93 mph off the bat into right center field and then stretched it into a double. If he were 6-foot-2 and ran a touch better he'd be getting 1st round looks out of high school. Good feel for the game, very high level ability. Verbal to Cal State Fullerton. Good student.

Scott Hurst is a 2014 OF/MIF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Glendora, CA who attends Bishop Amat HS. Slender wiry young frame, quick twitch athletic actions. Left handed hitter, very aggressive swing with plus present bat speed and more to come, bit long to the ball but loose and fast through the ball and out front, ball jumps very hard. 6.96 runner, fast and loose arm, 91 mph from the outfield, throws easy. Also plays middle infield, tools and big seem ideal for eventual position switch there. High ceiling talent.

Can play both OF and infield, lots of young arm strength, body says middle infield, tends to lay back and depend on arm strength at SS, will learn to work through the ball, has the quickness and athleticism. Left handed hitter, open stance, short and quick line drive swing, consistent hard barrel, swings hard, all fields, stays inside and on the ball very well. Passion for the game and hustling attitude stands out even at a young age. Ball player.

Scott Hurst is a 2014 OF/SS with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Glendora, CA who attends Bishop Amat. Young athletic player with impressive tools. Arm is excellent, with a long loose arm action and good carry on throws, very projectable arm strength. Offensively Hurst showed good plate coverage and projectable bat speed with good hand-eye coordination. As he adds strength he projects to hit for power from the left side. Moves well in the Outfield and on the bases. Very interesting follow. Named to Top Prospect Team.
