Tomas Nido is a 2012 C/1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Guaynabo, PR who attends Orangewood Christian School. Big strong build, especially in the lower half. Leg raise trigger, big hand hitch, all out effort swing with very good bat speed, looking to pull and lift the ball, sees the ball handles the barrel surprisingly well for the effort, can hit the ball along way when squared, handled off speed well. Athletic actions behind the plate, quick and agile, footwork rough but makes up for it with athleticism, strong throwing arm, accurate throws, 1.81 best pop. May have to tone down swing at the upper levels but it works for him now. Lots of big tools. Verbal commitment, to Florida Atlantic.
