Saul Diaz is a 2006 outfielder/third baseman from Tucson Magnet HS in Tucson, AZ, with a 5'7", 158 lb. frame. Diaz is an athletic player with good strength for his size. He runs well and shows better game quickness than his sixty time might suggest. Defensively he shows good range in the outfield with good arm speed, At the plate is where he performs the best. He is a right handed hitter with good bat speed from a straight away stance. Diaz has an aggressive swing, but has good hands with the ability to use the whole field. Most of his hits were back up the middle and to the opposite field. Sometimes he gets his weight out on his front side early, but he keeps his hands back and takes the off-speed pitch back up the middle. Diaz has plus bat control and makes consistent contact. He went 3-3 in one of the showcase games and looks like he will always hit. Diaz is also a good student, and should be followed.
