Riley Gates is a 2013 LHP/1B with a 5-11 186 lb. frame from Santa Clara, UT who attends Snow Canyon HS. Good present strength. Very unusual delivery, full stop at top, high 3/4's arm slot, doesn't repeat well but still generates arm speed and throws consistent strikes, very deceptive. Fastball to 85 mph, mostly straight, occasional running action, have seen to 88 mph in the past. Big sharp downer curveball is his out pitch, good deep biting at times, occasional change up. Will have to refine delivery from stretch, consistently 1.9 sec and above. Excellent student.
