Evan Holland is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Guntersville, AL who attends Guntersville HS. Thick and strong build. Full hands over head delivery, compact arm action with quick arm circle, high 3/4's arm slot, some effort on release but stays on line, back side/lower half tends to stay over rubber on release. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, have seen up to 91 mph this past summer, mostly straight but with good downhill plane, occasional running action. Slider is best pitch, has sharpness and depth, good feel for slider and mixes well and throws it for strikes. Has shown a good change up in tournaments and has pitchability. Would gain velocity immediately with better lower half use. Right handed hitter, short swing with hands close to body, has strength and ball came off the barrel well in games, line drive swing and contact. Good student, signed with Samford.
