Johnny Rangel is a 2013 C/SS with a 5-9 185 lb. frame from Brownsville, TX who attends Porter HS. Compact strong build. Has catch and throw tools, good arm strength, makes accurate throws, good footwork, 1.96 best pop time, tends to sweep glove at ball at times while receiving, 7.48 runner. Right handed hitter, tall stance, short quick swing, uses hands to hit, creates some bat speed, could extend better out front for more power, patient game approach, makes adjustments and makes pitcher work, has an idea at the plate. Good all around athlete. Good student.
