Sean Ray is a 2006 left handed pitcher from Virginia Beach, VA with a medium athletic build at 6-0, 175 lbs. He has a high leg kick delivery and a quick, compact arm action with some effort on release. He maintains good balance through his delivery and has good direction to the plate. Ray's fastball topped out at 85 mph with good running action. His 73 mph curveball has good velocity and a big 1/7 break that is sometimes very sharp. Ray's change up is around 75 mph with good sink and running action. Ray is around the strike zone with all his pitches and mixes things up well. His curveball is his best pitch and he knows how to set up hitters for it. Ray has been a successful pitcher for a long time and fits the profile as the crafty lefty who can win with less than average pure velocity because of all the other parts of his game. Ray is a good student who should make an excellent college southpaw.

Sean Ray is a 2006 left handed pitcher from Virginia Beach, Virginia. He's a very good looking prospect with a lean 6'0", 180 lb. frame, and a quick, loose arm. Sean generates good life on his fastball with deception in his release. He showed an 80-83 mph fastball, 62-68 mph curveball, and a 71-73 mph change up in Chapel Hill. Sean will also cut his fastball/slider around 75 mph. Sean works fast with a late hand break that causes him to rush his arm at times. He uses both sides of the plate with good command. Overall, Sean's a very projectable left handed pitcher with good upside. Keep and eye on him, he should only keep getting better and he's good now.
