Jake Lovvorn is a 2015 LHP/1B with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Tucker, GA who attends Tucker. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulder and present strength throughout his frame. Ran a 7.66 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter arm action with a quick arm coming through the back side. Steady tempo delivery with a high leg kick, loads weight on back side at balance point, maintains velocity out of the stretch well. Fastball topped out at 86 mph and fills up the strike zone, attacking hitters with command of both sides of the plate. Projects for more with incorporation of lower half. Gets around slider and generates 2-8 shape, throwing strikes with the pitch and cuts changeup at 75, maintaining arm speed on the pitch. Moves well off the first base bag with athletic actions, strong arm to intended base with ability to throw from multiple slots. Upright, narrow stance from left side, looks to lift with extension out front, has length to swing and gets barrel though the zone. Named to Southeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
