2013 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Lane Kowalski is a 2014 LHP/1B, C, OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Archdale, NC who attends Wesleyan Christian Academy. Large, strong frame with some room to fill out. Ran a 7.43 60 yard dash. Left handed pitcher who throws from a three quarter arm slot. Uses a steady tempo'd, compact delivery with balance throughout. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with occasional arm side run in. Strong feel for curveball at 68 mph with 1/7 break. Throws strikes with both pitches and keeps hitters off balance. Moves well off the bag at first base with good glove work. Hits from the right side with a slightly open base and high hand set. Uses lower half in swing and shows some bat speed. Excellent student.
