Robert M. Garcia Quiroz is a 2012 RHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Yabucoa, PR who attends IBAHS. Tall slender pitcher's build, long limbs, projects well. Well balanced delivery, compact arm action, hides ball well, high 3/4's arm slot. Steady mid 80's fastball, topped out at 87 mph, have seen up to 91 mph in the past, nice run and sink when down, straightens when up, challenges aggressively with fastball. Change up best off speed pitch, good feel for location and movement, has confidence in it. Short slurve type breaking ball needs either more power or depth. Has a mound presence and shows athleticism.

Balanced delivery, gathers before release, compact arm action, good arm quickness. Fastball touched 90 mph early, mostly 86-87, mostly straight. Curveball has short slider-type break, nice fade on change up, tends to drop release point at times. Garcia Quiroz hits from a straight stance with high hands, load's deep, very quick hands, has pull power, consistent solid contact with good bat speed. Defensively, has good actions, understands game and where to position, high energy. He is also very interesting on the mound topping at 87 with a sinking fastball with some run. Named to top prospect team.
