Slavin is a 6-2, 170 lb catcher from Georgia with a very projectable athletic body. He showed very good speed for a catcher with a 7.06 and threw 76 mph from behind the plate with a best pop time of 2.09. His pop times should improve with a quicker release. Slavin also played some outfield and threw 81 mph from that position. Slavin hits from a wide stance with a knee lift trigger and good bat speed. He gets very nice extension in his swing and has some natural lift as well. He’s not really strong enough right now to drive the ball consistently but if he gets strong and fills out could develop college level power down the road. Slavin is a good young player to watch to see if he further develops his strength and skills.
