Hunter Whitman is a 2015 LHP with a 6-4 198 lb. frame from Palm Beach Gardens, FL who attends William T. Dwyer HS. Tall and angular build, extra large frame, big projection physically. Long and loose arm action, easy delivery mechanics, low effort release, could actually speed things up to get better rhythm, 3/4's arm slot, gets leverage on release, good extension out front. Fastball topped out at 82 mph,, have seen up to 84 in the past, mostly straight but throws to both sides of the plate, has running action at times. 70 mph curveball, good spin with 1/7 depth at times, tends to slow delivery on change up but throws with confidence. Still raw in terms of repeating release point and hitting spots but the potential is there. Very interesting follow. Excellent student. Named to the Top Prospect Team.
