2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Terry Hawryluk is a 2005 right handed pitcher from Ontario, Canada. He has a real big frame at 6'9", 200 lbs., and is very projectable. Hawryluk throws from a 3/4 release point with a slight hip turn in his delivery. He does get a great downward angle from his release point to the plate. His shoulder is a little stiff, but he gets some life on his pitches. He topped out a 79 mph with his fastball, and 69 mph on his curveball that he threw with a 10 to 4 break. Hawryluk struck out 5 batters in his 3 innings of work during the showcase. With his size and some slight mechanical adjustments, we think he should gain lots of velocity and improve the bite on his curveball. Good follow, possible sleeper!
