2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Troy Dawe is a slender and projectable 6'4", 185 lb. right handed pitcher from Canada. We only had a short look at him at the Midwest Showcase, but were intrigued a bit. Dawe has a good delivery and short quick arm action from a standard ¾ release. His fastball was 82-84 mph and should show some improvement as he gains strength. Dawe threw a 70 mph curveball that he didn’t get out in front and over, but there’s nothing about his arm stroke that would indicate he shouldn’t be able to throw a good breaking pitch. His best years are definietly ahead of him.
