2013 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Sam Miller is a 2016 1B/RHP with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Tifton, GA who attends Tift County HS. Large build, has the potential to get strong with work. Right handed hitter, low hand load, upper half rotational swing, tends to open his front side early, uppercut swing plane, power approach. Soft hands defensively at first base, 7.50 runner. Also pitched, over the top arm slot, gets his hips turned and stays over the rubber well, tends to land soft and open on his front side. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight, curveball showed good downer shape and depth at times, threw strikes with both pitches and competed well. Graded out higher as a pitcher at this event. Good student.
