Gabriel Holt is a 2017 SS/2B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Bonaire, GA who attends Veterans HS. Slender young athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. 6.65 runner, has quick feet and lots of range on defense, works around and through the ball very well, has soft hands and a quick exchange and release, arm will work much better at second base than at shortstop. Left handed hitter, narrow open stance, big hand hitch load effects timing occasionally, has quick hands but will get long when hands not in position, mid field to pull contact with occasional lift, has the hand quickness to continue to improve with adjustments. Good student, verbal commitment to Winthrop.
