Blackman is a 5-10 sophomore second baseman from Florida with a nice, projectable athletic body. Blackman played solid defense at second base and had good defensive actions during the workout. Blackman threw the ball 70 mph across the infield, solid for a 2008 grad, but it will improve as he matures. Blackman is a switch hitter with bat speed from both sides of the plate. Blackman swings the bat well from both sides with loft and extension and a smooth swing. Blackman makes solid contact and should continue to switch hit. Blackman is a good student.
