Mangal is a 6-3, 200 lb senior right handed pitcher from Toronto. He’s a strong looking young man who could get stronger in the future. Mangal throws from a deliberate, balanced delivery with a high ¾’s to over hand release point. He does a good job maintaining downward plane to the plate on his pitches and his arm is loose and free out front. Mangal’s fastball was 83-85 mph and he occasionally got some late running action on the pitch, especially to left handed hitters. His 68-72 mph curveball had a slurve like break to it and he showed some feel for a 72 mph change up. Mangal looked a little raw in his approach and was throwing to the middle of the strike zone but he has lots of natural ability and looks like the type of athlete who should continue to improve with experience and hard work. Mangal is a good student who has committed to Niagara.
