Tyler Roeder is a 2016 IF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Thomas Jefferson. Medium frame, athletic build. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and high hand/ back elbow set. Balanced lower half with rotational actions to contact. Primarily uses a mid-field, gap to gap approach with an extended line drive swing plane. Shows good barrel control throughout the zone with the ability to hit muiltiple pitches to all fields. Will turn barrel head a times and flash solid bat speed to the pull side gap. Worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth, fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Deliberate gather and exchange into throw topping at 87 mph across the infield. Athletic actoins to each side with good first step angles on ground ball in the hole. Continues to improve with each event. Committed to Southeastern Community College.
